Massage Business Cards
December 20th, 2007 by Alexander KohlAfter my last post, I received a few questions regarding the business cards:
- Why did you use the picture?
- Was there an offer on the back?
- Did you really produce no other marketing materials?
Massage Business Cards with Photos
Using a picture on business cards (especially massage business cards) is a great way to make people remember you. When I proposed the picture to Caroline, her reply was: “Car sales people and Real Estate people use them. I think that is too tacky”.
Lucky enough our graphic designer is switched on. Rather than taking the (beautiful but boring) headshot of Caroline, she chose the one with our daughter Marla. It gives the card a much better feel, it relates to what our target market is interested in (being healthy and happy mothers) and is something people remember.
So when you produce your next business card think about how to creatively integrate a picture of you.
The back of the card
That question came from one of the massage practitioners working through the Passionate Training. In it, I explain how to integrate vouchers and special offers into your marketing.
I get a lot of resistence from natural health therapists. They usually say that they do not want to give anything away. You can find some of my thoughts on that at Massage Marketing - a numbers game.
Caroline resisted as well. So, no there is no offer on the back
Instead we have highlighted the reasons why mothers want to join the class (emotional benefits) and backed that up by logical reasoning. People decide to buy on emotion, then justify through logic.
In case you are wondering, the back is black and white because the card is printed on a multi-card print run. That makes it cheaper. Caroline chose to have the front glossy and the back without cello (makes it easier to write on it).
Other marketing materials?
No, we did not quite stop there. We also produced a flyer. But only because the cards will not be ready until tomorrow and Caroline needed to hand something out.
I’ll share that tomorrow.
